Ruhtf: Paul Weller's birthday
In honour of Mr. Weller's birthday, "Leafy Mysteries" on Conan O'Brian:
The picture above is taken in the kitchen of House Of Blues Anaheim. Please note his lit cigarette, and my dog Hawk. When his sister Nicky got him for me, he mumbled something in cockney while pointing to Hawk. I asked him to repeat it twice, and then just laughed and said "yeah".

RUHtF: The Saints - "I'm Stranded"
One of the great lost underappreciated unrecognized punk bands...UK had the Sex Pistols "Anarchy In The UK" and the
Damned "New Rose", US had "Blitzkrieg Bop" and "Beat on The Brat", Australia had...The Saints - "(I'm) Stranded"
A friend sent me a video of an interview with the lead singer, and I'm listening to their live album is on my ipod...so I figured I would put them up here.

RuHtf: COED at Club LaVeLee
This is a cool treat I just found on my hard drive that is extremely rare. I don't believe this recording exists anywhere else... so you're going to have to appreciate the lo-fi recording quality. For gosh sakes... it was done on iPod with a microphone attached. The microphone is really to be used for voice recording or lectures. However, I whipped it out for this one-of-a-kind performance. The band (the "COED" stands for Chronicles Of Every Diva) is made up of Sheila E., Kat Dyson, Rhonda Smith... all of them somehow related to to the Prince camp. This was Feb 6, 2006. Also in attendance were Lynn Mabry and Rachel Ferrel. Finally, Wendy and Lisa jumped up for a few songs. Wendy even yelled out "Alright Larry!" during "Mountains" (for those keeping score, it's at 1:17:32). Without further adieu, here it is in all its lo-fi glory:

Wendy & Lisa talk about the art of song:
And in case you've never seen it, I recorded Wendy & Lisa at the Apple Store:

While you're at it, buy their brilliant new recording:
