MoodSwings: Spiritual High (State Of Independence)

Terry surprised me last night with tickets to go see The Pretenders and Cat Power at the Greek. It was an amazing show. Chrissie Hynde still has an amazing voice. Which got me to thinking that I would put up this song. It's often mistakenly identified as "State of Independence" and most people don't even know it's MoodSwings, with Chrissie guesting. This was used in a department store commercial..or was it perfume?? It was also on the soundtrack to "Single White Female". Anyhow..it became a big hit, and apparently is a cover version of a song originally done by Jon & Vangelis and Donna Summer.

This is the first, infamous, Rodney On The ROQ compilation..the one that introduced Rodney, and punk rock, to millions.

Some of these bands went on to Punk Rock legend...others Punk Rock obscurity. Whatever happened, they took part in punk Rock hisory.

A petition needs to be started to get Rodney in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. He may not have the same broad appeal as, say, Murray The K, but his importance to modern music is legendary.
